Favourite Lolita Brand – Angelic Pretty

I think everyone has clothing brands that they have a special place in their heart reserved for. For lolita, mine is Angelic Pretty. My dream dress list could have the majority fulfilled with a giant, debt inducing shopping spree there (If they happened to re-release all my favourites at once!). So I have decided to do a post showing you why I love Angelic Pretty! It will show my (more recent) dream prints from them, so it will be biased towards the style I like. They also do some more gothic style stuff too!

All Images belong to Angelic Pretty, though I had to find some via tumblr/other blogs! I have linked where I found the Image so click the pictures for that (since most the dresses are no longer in stores.)

Melody Toys

This is their newly released print. I chose the high waist JSK to show you here because it’s my favourite of the series! I just love the cute detail on the top of the dress and those ruffles around the sleeves. This one is still being sold on Angelic Pretty (I found it on the European Site) so snap it up now while you still can! Though beware it does cost about Β£150!

Image

Misty Sky

I was annoyed that I didn’t get myself the Light Blue JSK when I had the money saved up, but I left it too late! 😦 Hopefully they will do another re-release at the exact point I have money again πŸ˜‰ For those of you that dislike lolita shapes of dresses, Black Milk did a very similar print for a skater dress (see here) that you may be able to find someone selling since unfortunately it has sold out! I find the cloudy blue sky print so charming and relaxing. The floaty material of the AP dress is so lovely too.

Image

Romantic Rose Letter

Another one that I didn’t decide I liked enough on time to get! My favourite was the skirt, I wasn’t a fan of the shapes of the top halves of this set. The print is lovely though, as is suggested by the name, it is very romantic. I would have loved to wear it with lots of floral hair accessories. The socks are really cute too. I love the ballet-style ribbon effect.

Image

Sugar Hearts

The JSK is my favourite, it’s just such a cute print and I love the shape and the flowy light fabric. I think it would be really great in summer. I could make a ton of cute love heart jewellery to go with this, along with matching nails.

Ok so now I have shown you my favourite brand and why, what is your favourite? What would be your dream print from there? I would love to hear from you all πŸ™‚

Bodyline Wishlist

In my last post about my goals for this year I mentioned how I wanted to get my first Lolita Outfit. I have been browsing sites ever since looking for that perfect first dress and my searches on Bodyline have come up with a huge list of things I would like! Unfortunately I can’t afford to get all of them just yet, hopefully I can be decisive enough to pick soon. Here is my Bodyline wishlist.

All pictures are used from the Bodyline site please click them if you wish to visit the page!

Image

The Ice cream cones are so sweet and summery. And in case you were wondering, Yes that is Venus Angelic modelling for them. Her hair and make up are so adorable!

Image

This skirt makes me hungry just looking at it!

Image

A lovely girly skirt. Bodyline does have good blouses to go with all these skirts, they just aren’t included here for the sake of keeping this post a tolerable length.

Image

Teddy bears are so snuggly looking :3 and I bet this skirt would go with so many things.

Image

This skirts looks really high quality and has cute print. It has a slight sheen which usually looks cheap but I think it makes this skirt look more silky and glowing. Hopefully that’s still how it looks in person!

Image

This looks super soft, and pretty warm. Though I’m not sure when I’d ever need to just warm my shoulders ;P It think it would look great with the pink teddy bear skirt!

Image

These shoes look really dolly like and cute! I also read a review by a cute lolita blogger called Luna Rain saying she found them comfy,Β  (Click her name to have a peek at her blog)which is great because I’m such a wimp with umcomfortable shoes. I think my feet have skin like tissue paper or something >.<

Hopefully I will be updating you all with a review of a lovely outfit in a couple months! Damn indecisiveness >.<

Angelic Pretty Salopettes

Image

These slightly bizarre dress/overall/pinafore things called Salopettes have recently grown in popularity amongst the Lolita community, whilst many others debate if it is actually something that belongs in the lolita style. When I first saw them the shape put me off, but they have grown on me since seeing more people wear them in cute coordinates and now I think they are really adorable!

Image

The lolita brand Angelic Pretty have made salopettes in the same lovely prints as their lolita dresses, but the shape is different to what most people would identify as a lolita dress. Personally, I love lots of different types of fashion so I don’t really care if these are or aren’t lolita. I just love the colourful, girly prints!

Image

You would need to wear a shirt or some other kind of top underneath, just like you would with dungarees. Lots of the salopettes have shorter skirts than other Angelic Pretty dresses, which I think is good for somebody that isn’t a lolita because it’s probably closer to what they would normally wear.

Image

I just love the cute bunny hood on this one!

I think that these would fit in really well with lots of other sweeter styles, like Fairy Kei or Dolly style. Since they are a lot more open at the top it also means it should be easier to find ones that fit a larger bust, which is a problem many westerners have with buying from Japanese brands. I have also heard of replica salopettes that don’t carry the same large price tag as the brand version, though be a bit careful because the quality will be less than that of a brand.

Sunday Style Inspiration!: Kyary Pamyu Pamyu

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is a Japanese pop singer. Her music is very cutesy and she really is a great example of Japanese ‘kawaii’ culture. She is 20 years old and she does perform worldwide too. I chose her as this weeks inspiration because she has a really unique style and her stage outfits are just incredible.

Here are some pictures of her. (Click for Sources)

Image

I really like the Pom Pom skirt, I think she looks just like a piece of candy!

Image

This is very over the top Fairy Kei style! It looks so cute.

Image

An outfit she wore for Halloween. The spider veil is really creepy! But also interesting and I haven’t seen anyone else wear anything like that before.

Image

Another fairy outfit, I think she is so adorable.

Here are some of her Music Videos. It’s probably the best way to get a feel of what her style is like.

Pon Pon Pon.

This is probably her song that has most popularity in the west. The video is very creepy cute and bizarre, which I think is why it spread so much.

Furishodeson

I love the dance at the table in this one. I really want to force some of my friends into doing that with me ;P

Tsukematsukeru

This is so catchy! It’s been stuck in my head for days.

Candy Candy

I just love the petal skirt here! It’s so cool looking, I bet it took her costume team ages to make.

Ninjya Re Bang Bang

And here she is as a Ninja, just because Ninjas are cool ^-^

*~*Hope you enjoyed this weeks inspiration! See you next Sunday!*~*

Sunday Style Inspiration!: Koakuma Jojo

Jojo is a gyaru blogger from the Netherlands. I really like her take on the Gyaru style and her make up, particularly her eye make up. She has a Tumblr account you can follow here, twitter here and of course her blog here. I read her blog regularly and find it really interesting, she reviews lots of products I want to get and has a really great wardrobe. (So Jealous -.- )

All pictures used have been taken from her blog.

Image

I really love this dress and those amazing shoes! I have some tights just like this.

Image

I also really like how she does her hair. It’s very dolly-like.

Image

I just love how all her outfits look different instead of being similar. It’s much more interesting than just sticking to one look.

Image

I want to learn to do my eye make up as flawlessly as she does! So neat!

Image

I need these tights. I love the stocking effect look.

Finding Gyaru Style Clothes on the High Street

Gyaru brands are expensive. If you have to pay for a shopping service to get them from Japan, it makes them even more expensive. However, it is possible to find clothes that fit into a Gyaru outfit from high street shops and other places. One place that is worth a look is charity shops and other quirky boutique type shops, they may have girly, lace or floral dresses that would fit really well into a Hime Gyaru co-ordinate.

To show you how you can create a Gyaru, Hime Gyaru (Or Hime Kaji) outfit by using high street shops, I have browsed the websites of popular high street brands to find some items of clothing that I think would fit a Hime/Gyaru outfit. They’re much cheaper than most Gyaru brands and more easy to get your hands on.

(Click the picture for it’s source)

Image

With some tall white socks and cute peachy high heels or wedges, I think this would look just lovely. It can see it fitting into certain Gyaru styles or a Hime Kaji style.

Image

This skirt would look lovely in a Hime Kaji outfit. It could go with a cute pink sweater and lots of accessories.

Image

This dress is very princess-like. I think with a short cardigan or some gloves it would look really great in a Hime Gyaru co-ordinate.

Image

Another dress that could go in a Hime Gyaru or a Hime Kaji outfit. It’s not as pink, but with the right accessories it could definitely work.

Image

This headband is so kawaii! I think it would look perfect in a Hime Kaji outfit.

Image

I think this jumper would look great in a Hime Kaji outfit. It looks slightly Liz Lisa-ish to me. It would go well with a lace skirt and some good shoes.

Image

These tights would go great in an Agejo or Hime Kaji type outfit. They’re very cute and the cream/white socks go well in Hime style. The way they hint at being stockings it what would make them fit in an Agejo style.

*~*Hope this has shown you that Gyaru clothes don’t have to be from an expensive brand!*~*

Liz Lisa & My Melody Collaboration!

Liz Lisa had recently opened pre-orders on items for their collaboration with My Melody, and as expected there are some massively adorable items available! I think this release kind of overshadows their Summer 2013 collection which looks quite limited and some of the items are not shaped as well as I would like for an item that costs as much.

(Click on pictures for their source)

Image

These are definitely my favourite of the range. I’m not quite sure why, maybe it’s because they are so unique looking and I can’t imagine finding similar ones elsewhere. The print is so cute :3 and they look extremely comfy.

Image

A pink, comfy looking cardigan that’s also part of the range. I like how slouchy and relaxed it looks.

Image

This make up bag is so adorable and looks like it has plenty of space to hold make up. I like bags that have enough space for everything, tiny little bags annoy me so much >.< The lace frills and my melody emblem is just so sweet.

*~*Are any of you planning to order anything?*~*
